[ A docile body,
with a choreographed smile ]
I often find myself smiling, even when I don't mean to. This involuntary gesture, deeply ingrained, acts much like an unbidden reflex, responding instantly to any stimulus. I am trained to be a docile body, conforming to a mold constructed by societal norms: to behave
appropriately, exude warmth, smile constantly, and uphold positivity. These pre-established standards fragment my identity into a series of disjointed moments. The meticulously crafted bodily displays often seem detached from my own sense of self, all the while disguising true emotions behind an ever-present choreographed smile.
